All the false myths about cats

Posted on 13th July 201911th November 2019

In this article, we will gather some curiosity about cats, if you have others leave a comment and we will try to deepen it.

Cats drink milk

Milk should not be placed in the bowl of our cats, especially if it is cow’s milk. It’s not like we see in cartoons, because milk is poured into the bowl of kittens, can induce diarrhea and pain in the belly. They don’t need milk but water. In short, even cats are lactose intolerant.

Cats see in the dark

The sight of the cat is called binocular, the image seen with his eyes is like a three-dimensional image. The range of colors that a cat can perceive is still unknown, certainly the cat does not perceive red. It has a field of view of about 200 degrees which allows it not to miss its prey. The feline is certain that he sees better than man.

This awareness derives from the particular conformation of the cat’s pupil which, however, in complete darkness, has no way of seeing. The retina receives more light than our eye, below it is the reflective crystals, tapetum lucidum, set of cells, which increases the amount of light that hits the cat’s eye. The cat has more rods on the retina and that is why it sees man better in the dark.

Who says cats can’t swim?

Many cats like to play with water with their paws, so it’s not true for everyone. Some cats learn to swim. A Turskin Van cat is very fond of water and we have searched online for videos that show him swimming in the pool. The Turkish cat Van is a native of Turkey.

Cat feeding

The cat is depicted as licking its cats’ mustaches, so it is depicted as a great fish eater.

Fish that do not contain taurine, which is necessary to him, is not necessary in the cat’s diet. The cat is carnivorous.

Do cats purr when they’re fine?

cats purr when they are happy but also when they are anxious. Purring is an instrument through which they calm down, for example during childbirth. It is not yet clear how cats emit this sound, perhaps with the vibration of the vocal cords. Purring is the way to communicate between mother and newborn kitten.

It seems that cats release endorphins and relax while they purr, some perform that alternate movement of the front paws. The purring of cats is emitted at low frequencies, (25-50 Hz). It is still nice to be near a cat and feel their “ron ron”.
