Because the cat runs away from home, how to find it

Posted on 10th August 201911th November 2019

Sometimes our cat can make us really scared because he abandons his home to leave us waiting for him. Among the causes that can push our feline runs away is love.

If the cat is male, this may be the first reason for escape. After a couple of days, he returns home alone. It is the period in which the females are in heat and attract the male, even the one at home.

The times could even reach a week, and on his return, he will be a bit run down because to win his partner he had to fight.

Another cause could be a disturbance that occurred at home. The arrival of another pet or even a child. Anything that changes the daily life of the house cat can annoy him and make him decide to change the air. Even in this case, after a few days, he returns home.

The ideal would be to create an area of the house where the cat can spend its hours quietly without being disturbed. We buy cloth puppets and cat grass for him so he can have some fun.

Another cause could be his predatory instinct, which determines his escape and abandonment of the home roof.

A cat could leave home for a move, perhaps done in the vicinity of the previous house. Or think of the possibility that the cat has been trapped somewhere in the vicinity of your home, like a basement or other. Their physical strength and possibility of survival are however very high, even without drinking or eating, cats can withstand a long time.

How to find the missing cat:

A quick solution is to pre-insert a microchip to our cat.

The Feline National Registry site, recognized by the Ministry of Health, offers all the information necessary to take this step and electronically identify the cat.

Another piece of advice we can give to all those who have a cat at home is that our friend does not stray too far from home.

When we go out looking for him, let’s call him by his name and in a gentle and calm manner, without letting go of nervousness.

Another tool to look for our cat is to use flyers and distribute them in our neighborhood.

Remember that the cat has a very strong sense of direction and therefore it is unlikely that it will be lost.
