Kevin McDonald - Corporate Veteran leaves after 25 years to start a Radio Show
Kevin McDonald, host and creator of Positive Talk Radio, was born in Idaho Falls on September 11, 1957. His family moved to Seattle shortly thereafter where he has lived ever since. Kevin grew up in a traditional family home and was raised in the Lutheran Faith. In fact, Kevin attended a Lutheran grade school and went to church each week with his family. Kevin was interested in many things while growing up, but mostly was involved in sports (baseball, football, basketball) and knocking around with friends. Kevin developed an unusual interest in historical as well as current events and the significance of those events, including: the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK, the moon landing, the Vietnam War, and protests as well as the social upheaval of the sixties and early seventies. Musically, Kevin was inspired and shaped by the music and times of the Beatles, and their impact on the world affected him profoundly.

As most young men are, Kevin was unsure how he would like to spend his life or what to do once he left High School, so he tried to find his "niche". He sold shoes, roofed, made cabinets, sold retail, never really finding anything that inspired passion in him. He even tried to return to his successful background in sports and became a Boxer with an eye towards turning professional. At this point in his life, God intervened and allowed a major facial injury (fractured cheek bone with subsequent surgery) to end this dream. Once recovered, Kevin stumbled onto the profession that would occupy him for the next 25 years; the hospitality industry. He found the passion that service to others provided for him and he flourished. Kevin enjoyed success at every level, be that in Restaurants, or the sales associated with the food industry (including selling dead, dismembered chicken).

In addition to his career, Kevin was interested in many other things, and set out to experience the most out of life. He attended college part time, and joined the theater department where he participated in many theatrical productions including, "Fiddler on the Roof" and Shakespeare's, "Taming of the Shrew", where he carried the lead role. He also learned about radio by working as a disc jockey at the local radio station. This school is where Kevin met and subsequently married a beautiful girl named Jennifer. To date they have been happily married for over 20 years and they have produced two great children Travis (15) and Sean (12). Kevin has also been active in his community, serving as Parent Group President, Cub Scout Master and Sports Coach for various teams.

But Kevin soon found himself wondering if "this is all there is", and what great mysteries were out there waiting for his personal discovery. Kevin began to search for new Possibilities and the great truths in life and began to realize that many people have this same deep yearning to experience, learn and discover who they really are and what ROLE in the world they are meant to play. In continuing the spirit of service to others, which has been the theme of his entire life, Kevin decided to share his search with the public by creating a radio talk show that has evolved into Positive Talk Radio. The show was designed to open the door to self-discovery for its listeners, and to empower them to achieve the greatness that is inherent in all of us. Kevin has proven to be more than an able guild in this search and his lighthearted, fun, and engaging style attracts much listener interest. And due to his life experience and interests, he is able to hold engaging conversations on an abundance of topics. It's hard to listen to his show without smiling along with this jovial man, as it is easy to see that helping others and spreading the power of being POSITIVE through the airwaves is the very reason Kevin McDonald was put on this Earth.

What can we learn from Kevin's story?
Kevin listened to his inner signals that something deep was missing in his life and as a result, decided and took action to answer the call.
